WHAT'S IN A LEGACY?
The Henrietta Lacks Legacy Group is a non-profit organization promoting the legacy of the immortal contributions of Ms. Lacks in medicine and in the biological sciences worldwide for over the past 60 years. As a group we work to extend this amazing African American woman's spirt into (through) social justice initiatives in health, medical education, and in the preservation and growth of Turner Station (the historically African American community where she lived, until her death in 1951). We do this through a number of partner-based educational and community health service initiatives spanning across age-ranges.
EDUCATION INSPIRATION CELEBRATION
When you join the Henrietta Lacks Legacy group you can stretch your social justice muscles (virtually or physically) around the country and around the world. We have programs for inspiring families and students interested in children, and racial and social class issues about health care education, and celebrate the fruits of our joy, pride, and varied cultures.
